The latest call for action against gun violence in the U.S. is still making headlines and causing a stir without losing momentum thanks to Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students. After their school fell victim to a mass shooter — armed with an AR-15 rifle — who killed 17 classmates and staff members the students took action, organizing protests, starting marches and demanding change.

Canada has been swept up in an opioid crisis that has been killing both hardened addicts and first-time users by the thousands. The main culprit? Fentanyl, a painkiller that is more potent than heroin and morphine.

Thousands of college faculty members and supporters got together at Queen’s Park yesterday to rally as the OPSEU strike continues into its third week.

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), which represents over 12,000 college professors, instructors, counselors and librarians, sat down at the bargaining table with the College Employer Council (CEC) the same day.

A low volunteer turnout didn’t stop Humber Arboretum’s shoreline cleanup after Journalism students covering the event pitched in to help save the day, and the environment.

Journalism students from Humber News and Humber Et Cetera joined Arboretum staff and a single volunteer to raise the number of participants to 10 on Wednesday.

Humber club ambassadors filled the North campus student centre for IGNITE’s annual club fair to anchor display booths on Tuesday.

Humber Galleries has combined creative expression with advanced technology into its newly relaunched digital gallery.

The North Space gallery opened on Sept. 6 to allow students and faculty to discover how digital technology is shaping the future of teaching, learning and creative expression outside the classroom.

Humber students put their resumes to the test as part of a’ Career Services’ back to school event this week

Representatives from Career Services came down to the Humber North campus’ LRC to evaluate the resumes through a hiring manager’s ‘six second test’ from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
